The 12 Days of Fitness

I don’t generally write here about products or to promote things. But when I find something I really like, whether it’s a book, a website or a lipstick, I like to share what I’ve learned because I always enjoy hearing when someone else has found a great bargain, a trusted product, or something that truly works. We women have probably all bought and tossed blush that was the wrong color, foundation that was too light or dark, and wrinkle cream that didn’t perform as promised. From time to time, you  may find me writing here about a product that I’m excited about, a website I enjoy or a bargain that I’m geeked about (because I do so love a good bargain!) I’m not paid to do any of those things. I’m just sharing the information love.

I wrote a piece about fitness a bit ago and I’ve stumbled upon a fitness challenge that fits into my schedule, lifestyle, and lazy winter mindset, and it is also effective.

Because I care about you the lovely reader and about myself, I want to challenge us all to this new workout. It’s the 12 Days of Pilates and as is sometimes typical of me, I started it today on day 3. I decided to double up today and tomorrow so I’ll be on track for day 4. The workouts are short, you can do them in your home and therefore, there is no excuse under the sun that I can come up with not to do it and this is why it’s perfect for me.

Grab yourself a yoga mat if you have one or a blanket or carpeted room if you don’t. You’re smart, you’ll figure out something that works for you. Then pull up http://www.thebalancedlifeonline.com/pilates/12-days-pilates-free-challenge/ and get started. You can sign up with your email and every morning, as you rise and grab your phone or computer, you will find a workout link and blessed encouragement in your Inbox. You will feel challenged.  That’s the point. But when you complete what usually ends up to be a less than 10-minute workout, it will set a great tone for your day.

Ten minutes! That’s it. In the crazy busy season we are in, you deserve–nay, you need–to set aside these precious minutes for your peace of mind, health of body, and renewal of strength. We are commanded to take care of our bodies and even if we fall off that proverbial wagon and eat too much of the unhealthy stuff and not enough of the good stuff, we can make good choices the next meal or the next day. But take time today to recharge and do something really good for you. You may feel a little sore tomorrow but that’s the feeling of progress!

Check out http://www.thebalancedlifeonline.com/ for other workouts and a wealth of fitness info. If you choose to embrace this challenge, let me know! I’ll partner up with you, whether it’s one person or 100, and we will accept this challenge together, and keep each other encouraged and accountable through this busy, food-laden, calorie-rich, sleep-deprived, beloved holiday season.
