Encouragement, Life Is Beautiful

Theocentric Thursdays Blog Hop!

It’s Thursday and I have the sincere honor of co-hosting a Blog Hop! This is my first time and I’d love for you to join me and this talented group of bloggers. You’ll find amazing support here. Read this post and find the info the bottom and join us!

Happy Independence Day weekend! Celebrate our liberties, our love, and our blessed freedom!

If you know me at all the last couple years, you know I’m a little into the idea of superheroes. Now, do I have a favorite superhero?
Yep. Jesus.

After him are people whose names you wouldn’t recognize. They don’t come in action figures. They won’t ever have a movie made about them. And unfortunately they don’t even have awesome superhero-ish names.

They’re just regular everyday people like you and me who do amazing things. Many of them aren’t even 18 yet.
I’m excited that this week’s featured post brings out a new superhero quality.

Before we jump into the featured post, take a minute to get to know our co-host(s) this week! Don’t forget to follow the host(s) and co-host(s) blogs and social media accounts!

Co-Host Melanie Pickett is a writer and blogger who is currently completing her first nonfiction book. She worked as a Medical Language Specialist for 19 years and is an occasional substitute teacher. Melanie posts on BlogHer and has been a guest writer on various other blogs. She writes regularly at the mental health blog, Defying Shadows but spends most of her time writing her own blog, Flying Blonde. A transplanted West Michigander, Melanie is a wife and mother with two teenagers who keep life busy and happy. She loves Jesus, her family, working out, reading, playing piano, 70’s-80’s TV shows, hot tea, serendipity, and traveling adventures. Melanie is a domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor and her ministry is to encourage and empower those in abusive situations, past or present, and bring awareness to this important cause.

Follow Melanie on Flying Blonde, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin’, and Google+.

Host Carrie Ann Tripp is a sold-out, born again Jesus freak, wife of 18 years, mother to two teenagers involved in every sport/activity under the sun, MS/HS English teacher, HS Softball Coach, Youth Group Worker, Youth/Women’s Speaker, Blogger, Writer, Avid Reader, Lover of Schedules, Volunteer of more things than healthy, and all around CRAZY kinda girl! She loves a good challenge and isn’t afraid to stand up for her beliefs or the underdog. She writes because her mental health demands it. “I heal, I hurt, I help through the written and spoken word. It is my love language.”

You can follow her blog, facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Google+, BlogLovin’, and various other places she pops up, but she’d be ecstatic if you’d start there!

This week’s featured post is brought to you from Marilyn Stewart at Looking Beyond Yesterday. Marilyn uses her blog to build a community where she can share her experiences with others in an effort to provide guidance and hope. Last week she shared with us a glimpse into one of the superhero-ish powers the Spirit gives us to call upon. Are we effectively activating our “Discern-men-a-tor”?

Make sure to leave Marilyn some comment love and share her post on all your social media sites! Let’s help her build that community she’s trying to build! You can also find Marilyn on Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram.

Before you join this week’s Blog Hop, PLEASE make sure you have followed all of the above people! If you leave us a note, message, tweet, or comment, we will be able to easily follow you in return! Thank you so much for joining our #TheocentricThursdays community. You are a valued member of our weekly studies and devotions!

Shann, thank you! It’s exciting to host. Make sure you come back and link up. There are great blogs to read and lots of mutual support. You’ll get the hang of blogging. There’s so much to learn, but great resources out there to help. 🙂
