What are you curious about?
Other people?
How things work?
What about God? Are you curious about him and how he works?
As I’ve been reading Curious Faith: Rediscovering Hope in the God of Possibility” by Logan Wolfram, I’ve become more and more curious about God, who he is, what he’s doing, and why he loves me. (From her book, Logan Wolfram is a plate-juggling mom and interior decorator turned writer, speaker, and host of the Allume conference.)
I find that no matter where I am in life, there’s always more to discover, pursue, and unravel about the God of Possibility.
We are born with an innate curiosity to explore, marvel, and believe there is more to life. But, laundry piles up. Bills pile up. Ultimately, life piles up…” ~Logan Wolfram in Curious Faith
This paragraph Logan wrote spoke to me quite particularly: “Worry, fear, wandering, waiting, and pain become staples that cripple us from living a hopeful life full of anticipation. Sure, there are still good things along the way, but the hallmark of our faith becomes more about managed survival than hope-filled thriving. We are content to live status quo instead of a life on the edge of the limitless possibility.”
Apparently, Logan knows me in the deepest corners of my heart. Or so it seems by these words. I’m a self-proclaimed (albeit recovering) worrier and a fear-er (as of now, that’s a word). She’s exactly correct that when you live in that type of state, everything becomes about survival and how to stay far away from the worst-case scenario we fear on the regular. We elbow out any room for joy, happiness or pursuit of dreams. Our efforts and energy and thought life are consumed with that managed survival Logan writes about. Don’t we want to instead live a life of “limitless possibility” in Christ? I do!
“Curious faith is about rescuing the now…Cultivate curiosity. Reignite your faith. Discover God’s goodness to fully experience your life again.” ~Logan Wolfram in Curious Faith
Logan shares boldly about her pregnancy struggles, feeling in a “wilderness”, and disconnect from the church. She lets us in and bares her soul for the sake of us and her hope that we too will pursue a curious faith. This book differs from any I’ve read in recent years, maybe ever. Wherever you are in your faith, there are words (really good ones) in Curious Faith for you. It released today which means you can have a copy in your hands this very day or in the next few if you order online. It’s available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Family Christian! When you read it, please come back here or visit my Facebook page or Logan’s and share your thoughts about Curious Faith, how it moved you, what you may have learned, and if your faith is indeed becoming curious. We’d love to hear from you!
Be Encouraged!
