It was August 2012 when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior while lying on my bed. I had just finished reading Unmerited Favor and Destined to Reign by Pastor Joseph Prince (I recommend you read these ☺).
I was addicted to alcohol and tobacco back then. I remembered reading a passage in one of the books where a man was set free from his tobacco addiction by the grace of God. I began to believe that the same would happen to me. During that period of my life, I also received Pap smear reports that showed abnormal results. That meant there was a possibility I might develop cervical cancer. However, I believed in the finished work of Jesus Christ and allowed Him to do His healing work in my life.
For the past four years, I have been set free from my addictions and my Pap smear reports show normal results with no threats of cervical cancer. All glory to God! It was all Him and the only thing I needed to do was simply to believe. I thank God for His unfailing love, for never leaving me–even when I paid Him no attention–while satisfying my own desires.
These days, I am seeking His guidance to help me raise my baby girl Gracelynn. As I type this, I am thanking God for giving her a new mommy! I’ll tell her all about my past life one day! My love for the Word of God has helped me to be an encouragement to everyone I come in contact with. I believe my transparency helps others to acknowledge that they can have the same freedom in Christ and grow in grace daily as well.
I have an “it’s not about me” attitude, now, because of what He has done in and through me. Myself or no one else could transform to who I am now, but God. This is what keeps me going in my walk of faith–that it is only Him and Him alone that could save me from myself.
I say this with Christ confidence, I have truly been saved by His amazing grace!
