Today was a different kind of Friday. It ended up being “date day” and I didn’t get anything else done at home including cleaning or writing. Once the kids were safely deposited at their respective schools, my husband and I hit the open road for a day together filled with “whatever.” He’s been working a lot lately for which we are grateful, of course. He surprised me with a rare weekday off and it was good to have that couple time. We had a lovely breakfast at a favorite cafe and tackled some errands including dropping my car at the mechanic’s (still waiting to hear on that and praying it’s easily fixed and most importantly, inexpensively), and various other stops including the dollar store, our wireless carrier, and the bank.
So while we were on “couple’s day out” I was happily surprised to see that a piece I wrote recently was published today! I attended a brilliant writers conference, (Breathe Writers Conference to be precise) in October and was asked to write about my experience. So I did. And today it’s on their blog and I am grateful.
Here is the link. I hope you will find it inspirational for your work if you’re a writer. If you’ve been considering a writers conference, this will give you a bit of an idea what you may take away from one. They are writing gold, I tell you. Do what you can to get yourself to one in the new year!
