Hello, friends! Are you melting out there? Or barely keeping your head above water?
Literally on both.
That seems to be the struggle here this July. Flooding has been the cause of several broken outings and events, and extreme heat the cause of cancelling others. My poor hardworking husband and son are managing to survive working in the heat this week, but I don’t think either of them would use the adjective enjoy.
It is survival out there.
It seems I’ve heard rumor of an unusually cool summer for the northern part of the US. If that is you, and said rumor is true, those of us in the middle sure would appreciate it if you’d share that cool air!
Speaking of COOL, I’m going to start something new here on CarrieAnnTripp.com on Fridays. I’ve been looking for some more structured posts to keep me focused when life keeps me, well, when life keeps me. I found inspiration in Leslie’s post “Five Favorites: Just For Me” at Life in Every Limb.
So, Fridays around here will feature posts with five favorite things. It might be five amazing things from the week, 5 fav blog posts I’ve read, 5 fav scriptures, 5 fav songs, 5 fav websites, 5 fav foods, 5 fav things to clean (Nah, I HATE to clean.), etc. If anyone wants to play along I can set a linky up and we can share favs. No voting or promised commenting though. I don’t have time to run another organized hop, however, I’d love to share favs with friends!

I have found that asking someone to share their post is a compliment! If you read something that speaks to you in a blogging community or group, there’s a great chance someone else needs to hear that word too. Ask the author to share it with us. You will be helping to reach someone who may not have been reached otherwise.
I also had a few complaints last week that we were sending out e-mails to people who did not request e-mails. It is in the “rules” that you give permission for the hosts and co-hosts to e-mail you exclusively about #TheocentricThursdays Blog Hop. However, to make this even more clear, I have set up a MailChimp account for #TheocentricThursdays.
If you do not sign up, you won’t be getting correspondence. This means if you receive the most likes on your post, I can’t e-mail you information about being the featured post or co-host.
I sent the information out via e-mail earlier this week. If you 1) deleted it with out reading it, b) didn’t get it because your spam folder deleted it, or c) have a gazillion e-mails because like me you say yes to everything, well, here is the link so you can sign up: http://eepurl.com/bs7lWz. So, last week I know for a fact that each of your posts were read from this hop a minimum of two times. Many of them had over 10 clicks in the first 24 hours. Woo hoo!!!!!! We are sending you some readers! Your hosts alone managed to get every single post shared at least once on EACH Twitter, Pinterest, and FaceBook. I have no idea how many potential readers you received from that, but God does!

Coming out isn’t easy. I know. I bet even if you don’t know personally, someone within your immediate family does. Encourage her. We need Christians willing to speak for those trapped silently within their own walls. Some of their own accord, some of guilt, and some because they couldn’t get alone no matter how hard they tried.
