The word “shift” is rather fitting for 2020, isn’t it? We’ve had a shift in our routines, our expectations, some have had shifts in employment or in how they educate or be educated, so many shifts! Really, we’ve have a collective “shift” in our reality.
In Shift: Changing Our Focus to See the Presence of God, author Abby McDonald says “If we want to see God in the midst of our struggles, we have to change the way we look for Him.” We have to expect Him.
Shift reminds you that God cares about every aspect of your life, the downs, the ups, and everything in between. There isn’t a single thing about your life that He doesn’t know and care about! God has not and will not forget you. Even if it feels like He is distant, He is there, a breath away, a whisper. He is with you always, even in these crazy times that feel so uncertain. Even when the earth shifts beneath our feet, He is our steady rock.
